Gender Reveal

Hello, Sister Holli here... So, we found out the gender of our baby last week. So Zella and I sent off a letter to Auntie Taryn to share the fun news! I had Zella color a little picture, then I put PINK confetti in the envelope with my letter and an ultrasound picture with a little pink flower on it. Then came the waiting every so patiently to hear from Taryn this week... Well she had her companion video opening it:) I love her reaction. I also love how she holds the ultrasound upside down... haha.. She was really convinced it was going to be a boy, actually ALL of her family thought it was a boy too. She even told me, "I just can't see myself coming home to a niece, I just keep picturing a nephew." Well it looks like she will be happy about another niece anyway:)

So here is her letter from this week, and the fun video:)

Hola mi familia y mis amigos!
This week has been a pretty amazing week!
The first exciting thing is that I found out what my sister is having!
I will attach a video so that y'all can be as surprised as I was! I am
so excited! I can't wait until it is born! Even though i won't be
there I know that I will love it so much!

This week I wrote 7 things about our investigator Bladimir...
#1 He drives a motorcycle
#2 He is my "Frem"! (This how he spelled friend!)
#3 We have to play mad gab with all the texts he sends us
#4 He always asks, "están molestando?" NO!!!!!
#5 He prayed for his friend Arturo!
#6 He really needs to cut his hair...
#7 He is Elect! We are going to baptize him this transfer!
Well, Bladimir has been doing really well and hopefully we can get him
baptized soon. It is just a lot of guilt from his past. He feels like
he isn't ready. He says that he loves coming to church and that we are
his only frems. For one of our lessons this week he rode his moto in
the rain, which is really dangerous! He could have told us that he
couldn't make it but he came anyway! He loves feeling peace when he is
around us! He came to church again on Sunday! He was able to
understand mostly everything that we do this time! He is so awesome!

Our next investigator is Boni! We haven't been able to see him for the
past week... we were supposed to see him last Monday but Hermana
Killian got really sick and we had to go home. Also his phone was
broken so there was no way for any of us to get a hold of him. Then we
planned to see him Saturday and at church on Sunday, but he got called
into work. Satan is really working! Can't he just take a day off?

We have an investigator named Jenny who used to be the Elder's, but
became ours because they could never find her husband home. Her
husband is a member of the church. She is totally prepared to hear the
gospel! It has been hard for us to see her because we could never find
her home. We finally were able to see her on Sunday and set up
appointments for this week. So we hope to be able to get all of the
lessons done so that she can be baptized of Feb 12!

The last investigator we are really working on is a little girl named
Lily. Her mom was a member a while back and both of her siblings are
baptized. She is nine years old. We went over last night to ask if we
could start teaching her and her mom actually asked us first! Cool
right?! We hope to reactivaste the family!

So it looks like we could possibly have 4 baptisms this transfer!
Which is amazing because I haven't had one yet! I am really excited
for all of these people!

This week I had my first exchange! I was with a Tongan sister named
Sister Hosea! She was super awesome! She really helped me with
contacting. She would contact people who said they only spoke Spanish
and then pass them off to me. I knew I didn't have a companion to fall
back on so I had to do it! It was amazing! The gift of tongues is
real!

2 really funny things! So we go to a Chinese restaurant every once and
a while with a recent convert, Humberto. So the first time we end my
fortune cookie said, "You will find good fortune in love!" WHAT!!!!! I
am a missionary! That will not happen! The second fortune is,
"Children's laughter, so beautiful to hear, soon will be a chance to
have them very near!" First love, then kids!  I feel like these
fortunes should go to my companion who will be going home soon! Not me
who has been out for a little over 2 months! OK, second funny thing!
Every person out here literally thinks that my name is Hermana! I went
to pick up my medication at the CVS pharmacy and she asked me for my
last name, so I pointed to my name tag and said Hansen. Finally she
said, "I am sorry, there is no prescription for Hermana Hansen." Ugh!
"No it is for Taryn Hansen..." I said. "Oh! You are picking it up for
someone!" I didn't want to argue so I said yes and gave her my fist
name. I then had to sign a paper saying that I was picking up this
prescription for Taryn Hansen... Who would name their child Hermana?
Funny right!

Entonces, es todo! Nos amo mucho! Nos vemos la próxima semana!
